GPI Holding is expanding access to European-standard healthcare for its insured customers. Individuals who purchase GPI Holding’s health insurance on or after 1 July will be able to verify suspected or confirmed diagnoses and receive online consultations from European physicians through an advanced telemedicine service.

This innovative offering has been introduced with the support of Vienna Insurance Group and integrates the international medical platform Diagnose.me into GPI Holding’s service ecosystem. The initiative represents a unique development in Georgia’s insurance market and forms part of GPI Holding’s long-term strategy to strengthen its healthcare and wellbeing ecosystem.

Diagnose.me is a digital medical platform that brings together leading specialists from 29 countries, enabling patients worldwide to receive online consultations with top international doctors across multiple medical fields. Patients can securely share symptoms, medical histories, and diagnostic test results and receive a comprehensive expert opinion-whether a confirmed diagnosis, a revised diagnosis, or a recommended treatment plan-within days.

The service is available for oncology cases as well as other suspected or confirmed medical conditions. Consultations are conducted in the patient’s preferred language (Georgian or English), and full translation of medical documentation is provided.

According to Tinatin Koberidze, Deputy Director for Strategic Development at GPI Holding, integrating international treatment and consultation modules into health insurance is a key strategic priority for the company. She notes that GPI Holding is pleased to partner with Vienna Insurance Group to make European medical expertise more accessible to insured customers in Georgia. This need was underscored by the company’s earlier introduction of an Medical Second Opinion service for oncology. With the addition of Diagnose.me, insured customers can now verify diagnoses or assess suspicious symptoms across up to 80 different conditions, without the time and financial burden of traveling abroad. Seeking a second medical opinion, she emphasized, is a well-established global practice-particularly in complex or uncertain cases-and this service also supports local physicians through collaboration with European colleagues.

Diagnose.me representatives highlight that the platform has been operating successfully for over 13 years, helping patients worldwide obtain accurate diagnoses. According to platform data:

  • In 32% of cases, doctors revised an existing diagnosis or provided a diagnosis where none had been established locally;
  • In 35% of cases, initial medical conclusions were clarified or corrected;
  • In 16% of cases, unnecessary or potentially harmful treatments were avoided.

The partnership with GPI Holding, supported by Vienna Insurance Group, allows Diagnose.me to extend these benefits to patients in Georgia, offering direct access to Europe’s medical ecosystem.

As GPI Holding explains, insured customers may use this service up to three times per year. The consultation process is designed to be simple and fully digital. Customers register on a dedicated Georgian-language Diagnose.me platform created specifically for GPI Holding policyholders, using their health insurance policy number, and manage the process through a personal online account:

  • Patients submit their suspected diagnosis, test results, and symptoms to a selected physician, or the platform recommends an appropriate specialist based on medical needs.
  • Within 10 days of uploading medical documents, patients receive a written expert opinion from the specialist.
  • Following the conclusion, patients may ask follow-up questions and receive additional consultation from the same physician.
  • During the application process, support specialists are available via online chat or phone, in the customer’s preferred language.

Diagnose.me provides full translation of medical documents and ensures that final conclusions are delivered in Georgian. For any additional assistance, GPI Holding policyholders have access to Georgian-speaking support specialists who facilitate the consultation process.

GPI Holding states that international medical services and treatment abroad remain a strategic priority, and the company plans to introduce further innovations in this direction for its insured customers.
