What Is Policy Onco Care?
The Onco Care policy is a malignant tumor insurance policy that provides compensation of up to GEL 150,000 in case of diagnosis. The policyholder has full discretion over how to use the funds.
How much does it cost?
The policy starts at GEL 5, with the premium depending on the age of the insured. The rate remains unchanged for 4 years, and the policy is automatically renewed each year. From the 5th year onward, the premium is recalculated.
Who can purchase Onco Care?
Onco Care can be purchased by adults up to 65 years old who have not had a confirmed malignant tumor prior to taking out the policy
Are oncology-related expenses incurred before the start of the insurance coverage reimbursed?
No compensation is provided for oncology conditions that existed prior to the start of the insurance coverage.
Does OncoCare have a waiting period?
OncoCare has a 6-month waiting period, which means that no compensation will be provided for any diagnosis confirmed within the first 6 months from the start of the policy.
What is the difference between a standard health insurance policy and Onco Care?
Unlike a standard health insurance policy, OncoCare provides a one-time compensation that is paid solely based on the diagnosis. There is no need to submit an expense report for treatment to receive the compensation. Additionally, the insured is under no obligation to use the funds for medical purposes and has full discretion over how to use the compensated amount.
Does purchasing OncoCare affect state funding?
Onco Care does not affect participation in state programs, and policyholders can still benefit from such programs when purchasing the policy.
In which cases will compensation not be provided?
Compensation will not be provided in the following cases:
If the insured has been diagnosed with a malignant tumor before the insurance coverage begins.
If, prior to the insurance start date, the insured has a confirmed diagnosis of malignant tumor, cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, hepatitis B, C, D, or E, liver cirrhosis, or any other malignant condition.
If procedures required for the diagnosis of a malignant tumor are initiated during the waiting period (within 6 months from the policy start date).
If a non-invasive malignant tumor is diagnosed.
If the insurance premium has not been paid according to the payment schedule.
How can the received compensation be used?
The insured has full discretion over the use of the compensation – they can decide whether to use the funds for treatment or for other necessary purposes.
How is the compensation paid?
Upon confirmation of the diagnosis, the claim is registered through the hotline (032 250 5111). Based on the necessary documentation and review, compensation up to the full policy limit is then provided.
