The policy is intended for family doctors, surgeons, specialized medical professionals, nurses, and other healthcare personnel.
What does doctors’ liability insurance protect against?
The policy covers financial losses caused to a patient due to a professional mistake. If a patient’s health is negatively affected as a result of your actions, GPIH will reimburse the expenses.
What situations does the policy cover?
The doctors’ liability insurance policy covers professional mistakes made by medical personnel in cases such as:
During diagnosis
Throughout the treatment process
During surgical operations
While performing medical procedures
During dental services
For special patient transportation
Which result in the deterioration of the patient’s health or death.
What does license/certificate suspension or revocation compensation mean?
If your medical certificate or license is temporarily suspended, GPIH will compensate your salary for up to 6 months.
In the case of a permanent license revocation, financial compensation is also provided.
Does the policy cover legal expenses?
Yes. If any party initiates a legal claim, GPIH will cover the costs of legal representation, including cases where the court rules in favor of the insured.
Are all incidents covered if they occur during the policy period?
Only incidents that occur during the policy period and are reported to the insurance company are eligible for compensation.
Which incidents are not covered?
The policy does not cover:
Intentional acts or deliberate misconduct by the insured
Criminal offenses committed by the medical personnel
Situations arising from activities outside the scope of the insured’s professional duties
Pre-existing conditions or known risks before the policy started
Claims not reported to the insurance company within the required timeframe
These exclusions ensure that coverage only applies to unforeseen professional mistakes or liability events.
